On Saturday morning in the Dara’a Governorate’s northern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Izra’a – continued their advance near the strategic town of Kafr Shamis, targeting the Islamist rebels from the Free Syrian Army’s “Southern Front Brigades” at the village of Khirbat Kom Maqarah.
Following a series of intense firefights with the Islamist rebels, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division and their allies imposed full control over the village of Khirbat Kom Maqarag in the northern countryside ofKafr Shamis.
Earlier this week, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division began their assault in the northern Dara’a countryside, destroying the Free Syrian Army’s headquarters inside the town of Kafr Shamis en route to their advance inside the region known as the “Dara’a Triangle”.
South of the Dara’a Triangle, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade of the 5th Armored Division has been punishing the Islamist rebels of the Free Syrian Army at the imperative city of Sheikh Miskeen, killing several enemy combatants while also destroying enemy military installations.
Inside the provincial capital, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division has advanced at the rebel-held Dara’a Al-Balad District after imposing full control over Busra Square and the College of Medicine buildings near the Dara’a Mahata axis.
