BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has officially cutoff the Islamic State’s last supply route to their east Aleppo stronghold of Deir Hafer today.

According to Al-Masdar’s Yusha Yuseef, the Syrian Arab Army liberated the village of Umm ‘Adisah in the Deir Hafer countryside after a short battle with the Islamic State (ISIL) forces this morning.

As a result of their advance today, the Syrian Arab Army has cutoff the Islamic State forces at Deir Hafer from their main supply route along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway (M-4 Highway).

Today’s operation was reportedly led by the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces and local tribesmen from the Al-Baqir Tribe – the latter comes from southeast Aleppo and western Al-Raqqa.

Great. Blockade achieved. Many will like to hear this good news.

p.s. I had rather expected IS to withdraw in the last possible moment.
