BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:15 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their field operations in the eastern countryside of the Sweida province, today, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) large pocket near the Deir Ezzor border.
Led by their 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army began the day by storming the ISIL-held Shinwan and Al-Saqiyah areas.
Using their shock troops and elite 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces), the Syrian Arab Army was able to liberate a number of points near the Shinwan area after fierce battle with the Islamic State terrorists.
Meanwhile, not far from the Kara’ area, the Syrian Arab Army’s missile units heavily targeted the Islamic State’s positions, scoring several direct hits against the terrorist forces.
Also taking part in today’s battle is the Russian Aerospace Forces, who have already launched well over 20 airstrikes along the vast stretch of desert territory currently under the occupation of the Islamic State.
The Syrian Arab Army is hoping to crack the Islamic State’s main line of defense, today, while also cutting of their supply route to the Badiya Al-Sham region of east Sweida.
