Led by the 4th Armored Division in western Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army attacked several axes this morning in a bid to crack the jihadist defenses in the Al-Zahra’a Association Quarter, Scientific Research area, and Journalists Housing.

According to a military source near the front-lines, the Syrian Army has not achieved much success at this front because most of their attack has consisted of artillery and tank fire.

He would add that the Syrian Army’s attack in west Aleppo is very complex because of the jihadist defenses at this front. The western outskirts of Aleppo is filled with jihadist tunnels and sniper dens, which makes advancing very difficult.

Meanwhile, at the southern Aleppo front, the Syrian Arab Army, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), has achieved some success against the jihadist rebels, as their troops have captured several hilltops along the Aleppo-Idlib Highway (M-5).

The Syrian Army is now working to capture the key town of Khan Touman, which is located along this imperative highway.
