Large quantities of light and medium-caliber ammunitions have been seized as the Syrian Army’s elite forces ambushed a weapon convoy in the eastern countryside of Hama province.
The ambush was carried out in an area called Wadi al-Azeeb to the northeast of Salamiyah city.
The area has always been a regular smuggling route used by jihadists to smuggle weapons and ammunition across different battlegrounds.
A local reporter told Al-Masdar News that the vehicle, which was heading southward from Nusra-held area, was hit by a landmine, killing the driver and its escort.
In a related context, the Syrian Army repelled an ISIS attack on al-Mabouja and Akareb villages.
