BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:10 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) allowed a massive convoy of fighters from the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) to travel through their lines in order to reach the Afrin region.

According to a military source in Aleppo, the YPG convoy went through the town of Menbeij to the government lines, where they were freely allowed to use the roads to the Afrin region.

The Syrian government is opposed to the Turkish military’s incursion in Afrin and has agreed to allow the YPG and their allies to send supplies and reinforcements to this front in order to fend off the attackers.

Below are several photos of this massive YPG convoy that traveled through the government’s lines on Monday:

Syrian govt could also send 4-5 of its 50 Pantsir S1 batteries and use S-200 to shoot down Turdish aircraft.

This would be helpful but could cause a major war with Turkey.
Syria needs a victory against the Jihadi foreign mercenaries first, IMHO.

So Damascus is unlikely to deploy and use that right now. If Turkey does not provoke this by attacking from the air SAA or other national defense forces. The SAA may deploy but IMHO will not use.

p.s. After all Turkey is involved in the peace process as grantor.

I feel sorry for those Turkish boys. They are brave. Coming to them is a most battle hardened force who destroyed ISIS, With air support but still often face to face. They are fighting for their very existence. Make no mistake Erdogan would be happy to see every Kurd dead. I predict a replay of Hezbollah vs, invader for them same reasons,
