DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:35 P.M.) – Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies continued their successful military operation against the so-called “Islamic State” (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) in Homs province advancing southeast of Palmyra city.

As Al-Masdar News reported earlier, on Thursday units of the SAA’s 5th Corps alongside with Al-Quds Brigade (Palestinian paramilitary) imposed full control over Tall Firi mountaintop and its surroundings.

Pushing further southeast of this site, government forces managed to drive IS jihadists out of Bir Abbasiyah area.

Video footage published by Syrian Ministry of Defense shows operations of SAA and allies in recently recaptured Zenoubia resort area as well as in Bir Abbasiyah:
