BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies resumed their military operations in the southeastern countryside of the Hama Governorate, Tuesday, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions from two different axes.
The Syrian Army’s Qalamoun Shield forces began the day by storming the Islamic State’s positions directly east of Salamiyah.
This attack resulted in the liberation of al-Taybah, which is a town that is located approximately 19km away from the Islamic State’s stronghold of ‘Uqayrbat.
Following the liberation of al-Taybah, the Syrian Arab Army advanced southeast of Salamiyah, liberating several hilltops overlooking the Abu Hakfeh area.
Once the Abu Hakfeh area is liberated, the Syrian Arab Army will be able to cutoff the Islamic State’s supply line from the Al-Mukharram sub-district to ‘Uqayrbat.
