BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – Footage filmed on Sunday shows units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) patrolling through rugged desert near the Tulul al Safa heights, east of Sweida province.
Plumes of smoke were seen rising into the sky following explosions in the distance.
The Syrian Arab Army was able to liberate the Al-Safa volcano on Saturday after breaking through the terrorist group’s lines at the northwestern axis of this mountainous area.
An offensive by the SAA saw government forces make gains against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the area on Saturday, according to government news agency SANA.
