BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army scored another large advance near the Deir Ezzor-Raqqa border, liberating several areas near the key town of Ma’adan.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army liberated three towns along the Deir-Ezzor-Raqqa border, today, forcing the Islamic State to abandon several points in order to avoid being overrun.
According to a Syrian military report, the Tiger Forces liberated the towns of Halabiyah, Zalabiyah, and Al-Qasbi in the northwestern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
With this latest advance, the Syrian Arab Army is steadily progressing towards the Islamic State’s last stronghold, Ma’adan, in the southeastern countryside of Al-Raqqa.
