BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army continued their advance in the eastern countryside of Homs today, liberating new points from the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists near the ancient Assyrian town of Al-Quraytayn.

Led by Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) and 5th Legion, the Syrian Armed Forces stormed the Qasr Al-Habr area east of Al-Quraytayn, resulting in a fierce battle with the Islamic State militants.

According to an army source, the Syrian Armed Forces are now at the outskirts of Qasr Al-Habr after seizing several sites around this important area in east Homs.

If Qasr Al-Habr is captured by the Syrian Arab Army, then they will be positioned directly north of the strategic Al-Bardah area in the vast Syrian Desert.

In addition to the Syrian Arab Army’s attack on the Qasr Al-Habr area, the Russian Air Force has carried out several airstrikes over the groves of Al-Bayarat, killing tens of Islamic State terrorists and destroying at least a half dozen of their vehicles.
