BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big assault in the northeastern countryside of the Hama Governorate, today, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) pocket near the Idlib axis.

Led by their 5th Legion and Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army began the day by attacking three towns controlled by ISIL at the southern axis of their pocket.

Not long after launching the attack, the Syrian Army announced the liberation of the small towns of Abu Khanadiq, Jubb Zreiq, and Abyan after a short battle with the Islamic State’s forces.

Since making this advance, the Syrian Army has resumed their operations in a bid to capture more ground from the terrorist forces near the Hama-Idlib ais.
