ALEPPO, SYRIA (1:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard is rolling inside the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo today after launching a new military operation at the Suleiman Al-Halabi District.

According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces have already seized much of the Suleiman Al-Halabi District’s wester sector after an intense battle with the jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab.

The Al-Masdar correspondent added that the Syrian Armed Forces have seized three major sites inside the Suleiman Al-Halabi District; these sites are reportedly the Club Halab building, City Garage, and Electrical Facility.

If the Syrian Armed Forces manage to capture the Suleiman Al-Halabi District, they will be in position to strike the jihadist stronghold of Sakhour, which is located just east of the former.
