Aleppo, Syria (12:06 A.M.) – Following hours of intense clashes preceded by waves of artillery shelling, the Syrian Arab Army supported by the Ba’ath Brigades were able to crackdown militant defenses in the strategic Aleppo district of Bustan Al-Basha.
Over 30 Islamist rebels were killed in the violent battles that paved the way for the Syrian Army’s confirmed capture of the Sports Institute, Young Scientists School, and Mercedes Building effectively capturing between 70-80% of the embattled district.
Should the Syrian Armed Forces capture the neighborhood entirely, they would be in position to strike Ayn Al-Tal where they could link up with their comrades from Quds Brigade (Palestinian Paramilitary) at Oweija district further choking the Fateh Halab coalition.
Moreover, Bustan Al-Basha is a launchpad for future operations at the heart of east Aleppo. If the government forces continue at this pace, the rebel forces are expected to collapse on several axes amidst unprecedented pressure on all fronts.
