One Sunday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 68th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division – backed by Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks), Russian Marines, and Liwaa Al-Fatemiyyoun (Afghani paramilitary) – imposed full control over 4 hilltops near the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields after short battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
According to a military source at the T-4 Military Airport, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies liberated Tal Karbala, Tal Taha, Talat Majd, and Tal Karar from the Islamic State terrorists in northeastern Homs.
As a result of this successful military operation, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies have now cutoff ISIL’s primary supply route from the Al-Raqqa Governorate to the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields of northeastern Homs.
ISIL relies on this Raqqa-Homs route to reinforce and resupply their entrenched fighters in the vast Syrian Desert.
