Not even 24 hours after the liberation of al-Maduonah, the Syrian Arab Army – led by the elite Tiger Forces – continues to place military pressure on the the ISIS terrorist group via an unrelenting push in the direction of the strategic city of al-Bab.
To the south of al-Maduonah, the Tiger Forces captured the important Mashirfah hill whilst, at the same time, further developing momentum in the direction of Deir Qud, which is presently in the process of being stormed.
Deir Qud is a very small urban zone that lies between the M4 main highway and N212 secondary motorway. Both aforementioned roads represent the most direct route to the city of al-Bab. The ongoing push along this axis seems to suggest that the liberation of al-Bab is in fact an objective of the SAA’s Eastern Aleppo offensive for 2017.
