BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Al-Qaeda group, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, denied their leader, Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani, was wounded by a Russian airstrike in the northeastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate on Wednesday.

According to their official Telegram account, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham stated that Al-Jolani is in good health and fully capable of handling his duties.

“Hayat Tahrir al-Sham denies what was circulated in the media about the injury of Sheikh Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani and confirms that the sheikh is in good health and is carrying out fully all the duties entrusted to him,” the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham statement read.

The HTS statement contrasted the Russian Ministry of Defense’s claims that were made earlier in the day.
