The Syrian Arab Air Force was relentless yesterday, bombarding the Islamic State’s positions in the Ar-Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Aleppo Governates. Sources from the Syrian military confirmed 86 air strikes were aimed at destroying Islamic State convoys and strongholds. Islamic State media confirmed the prevalence of air strikes, posting pictures of their destroyed bases. According to SAA sources, the I.S. strongholds in the Aleppo Governate were targeted at Al-Bab and Deir Hafer; while, the villages of Abu Kamal and Mayadeen were the primary focus in Deir ez-Zor.

Violent firefights continued at the Tabqa Airbase in the Ar-Raqqa Governate between the Syrian Arab Army and the Islamic State. The Syrian Air Force targeted IS positions 2 KM from the base and continue their bombardment of enemy convoys with their M1G-21 aircraft. Tabqa Airbase is the SAA’s last base in the Ar-Raqqa Governate and an integral part of their military arsenal.
