DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Air Force has carried out several airstrikes over the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus today, targeting several Faylaq Al-Rahman hideouts near the towns of Jobar and Zamalka.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Air Force conducted over 20 airstrikes above the town of Jobar today, killing a large number of combatants from Faylaq Al-Rahman.
The field correspondent added that another 15 airstrikes were conducted over the town of Zamalka in response to the indiscriminate shelling conducted by the Islamist rebels in the East Ghouta.
Prior to today’s airstrikes, the Syrian Air Force had ceased daily operations over the East Ghouta in order to mend relations with the people of the East Ghouta; specifically, the village elders negotiating with the government.
However, the influx of attacks by the Islamist rebels on the Syrian capital have once again forced the Syrian Air Force to intervene.
