The Syrian Air Force launched another large-scale aerial campaign across Syria, striking several areas under the control of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
One of the key targets for the Syrian Air Force on Thursday was the east Damascus countryside, where ISIS has attempted to repeatedly advance at the strategic Dumayr Military Airbase.
According to a field source, the Syrian Air Force carried out over 30 airstrikes above the Dumayr countryside, resulting in the death of several ISIS terrorists along the main road to the Dumayr Military Airbase.
In the east Homs countryside, the Syrian Air Force targeted ISIS’ defensive positions at the villages of ‘Arak, Bardeh, and Al-Sukhanah; these airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a large weapons depot at ‘Arak.
The Syrian Air Force also targeted the northern Palmyra countryside, where ISIS is currently entrenched at Brigade 550 near the Al-‘Amariyah District.
The largest concentration of airstrikes that were conducted by the Syrian Air Force on Thursday took place inside the Aleppo Governorate.
Over 60 airstrikes were reported over the northern and eastern countrysides of Aleppo; these areas have a large presence of ISIS fighters operating along several fronts.
