BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:25 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) launched their first airstrikes of the month over the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate, a military source told Al-Masdar News on Sunday.
According to the military source, the Syrian Air Force heavily bombarded the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) positions across the southeastern countryside of Al-Sukhnah.
The Syrian Air Force would also target several areas controlled by the Islamic State inside the Badiya Al-Sham region, which is located in the desert between the Homs and Deir Ezzor provinces.
In addition to the airstrikes, the Syrian military also conducted a number of artillery and missile strikes from their positions in the mountains overlooking the Al-Sukhnah countryside.
The Syrian Arab Army is expected to target this vast desert region in eastern Homs and western Deir Ezzor in the coming weeks, as they look to clear the last remnants of the Islamic State in Syria.
