BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) launched several airstrikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) in the Yarmouk Basin region, today, to aid the rebels in the western countryside of Daraa.
The Syrian Air Force reportedly launched over ten airstrikes on the positions of the Islamic State affiliate “Jaysh Khaled bin Walid” near the town of Hayt in western Daraa, a source told Al-Masdar News.
As a result of these airstrikes by the Syrian Air Force, the rebel forces were able to drive back the Islamic State terrorists that were attempting to infiltrate their positions at the imperative town of Hayt this morning.
Today’s airstrikes by the Syrian Air Force in the Yarmouk Basin region marks the second time this month that they have targeted the Islamic State in this area.
Previously, the Syrian Air Force hadn’t launched an airstrike over the Yarmouk Basin region since late 2014.
