According to a senior officer from the Syrian Air Defense, military intelligence learned of an important ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) command and control center in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside on Sunday, paving the way for their warplanes to carry out a series of powerful airstrikes the following morning.

The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) would launch 8 airstrikes above the villages of Umm Al-Mayal, Al-Qalay’at, and Al-‘Awaynat on Monday morning, destroying a number of military installations belonging to ISIL, including their command and control centers.

The senior officer from the Syrian Air Defense could not confirm the ISIL death toll from the powerful airstrikes on Monday morning; however, he was able to confirm that these military installations were destroyed by the Syrian Air Force in aforementioned villages in eastern Aleppo.
