BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 A.M.) – For the second time in two days, the Syrian air defenses claimed that they confronted “hostile missiles” that were fired from Israel.
According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense, the Syrian air defenses confronted these missiles over the western countryside of the Damascus Governorate, with some of these projectiles intercepted over Al-Quneitra.
A source from the Syrian military said no major explosions were reported in any part of the country, but their air defenses have been ordered to remain on high alert to prevent any more attacks.
On Friday evening, a similar event was reported by the Syrian Ministry of Defense; however, the attack was unusually short and no major explosions were reported in either Damascus or Al-Quneitra.
Furthermore, the “hostile missiles” that have been fired into Syria’s airspace have been intercepted but a source from the military said it is still not clear if they are even projectiles.
Some have speculated on social media that these are not in fact projectiles, but instead, decoy balloons used by the Israeli military.
Israel has yet to confirm any of these attacks, despite the accusations from the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
