BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Air Defense is currently on high alert in the Al-Quneitra Governorate as the army prepares to launch their next major operation in southwest Syria.
The Syrian Air Defense has made preparations for any potential Israeli interference in this upcoming offensive against the jihadist rebel forces near the occupied Golan Heights, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News this evening.
When asked about what preparations have been made, the source said that the air defense units have shifted their attention to the borders of the occupied Golan Heights and Lebanon, while also conducting reconnaissance drone flights in the western region of Syria.
In response to the reconnaissance flights, Israel has said they downed at least two drones flying from Syria into the occupied Golan Heights in the last 72 hours.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is currently making their last preparations before they kickoff of their long-awaited offensive to retake the entire southern countryside of the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
Leading this upcoming government operation in southwest Syria are several different divisions in the Syrian Army and National Defense Forces (NDF); these units include the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces), Liwaa Suqour Al-Quneitra, and Colonel Nizar Qindi’s Shock Troops.
