BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 P.M.) – Syria and Jordan held their first technical talks about reopening the Nassib Crossing in the Dara’a Governorate, the Reuters News Agency reported.
Citing a Jordanian official, Reuters reported that the talks took place on Thursday at the Jaber Crossing and focused on practical arrangements regarding security and customs.
“The meetings will continue to put a complete view of all the arrangements linked to reopening the crossings in the coming period,” the Reuters source said.
The Syrian Arab Army recaptured the Nassib Crossing in July after losing the area to the rebel forces in 2014.
Since retaking Nassib, the Syrian government has been focusing on the reconstruction projects around the border in preparation for reopening this Jordanian crossing.
