DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:30 AM) – The Foreign Ministry of the Syrian Arab Republic has officially condemned the US decision to create a 30,000 strong “border force” in the areas controlled by the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militias as illegal.

The statement of the ministry called the border force “a blatant breach of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a flagrant violation of international law”, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The Foreign Ministry urged the international community to denounced the US decision and counter the “domination mentality and arrogance which dominate the US administration’s policies”, warning of the negative consequences for international security that would ensue if the US plan carries on unchecked.

Lastly, the foreign minister’s office clarified that the Syrian Arab Republic will consider any Syrian citizen who takes part in said planned US-created militia force to be guilty of high treason against the state and people of Syria, and stated that they shall stand trial as traitors.
