BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:10 P.M.) – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, stated on Tuesday that some nations spent billions of dollars to arm the militants inside Syria.

In a statement at the 3rd United Nations Conference to Review Progress Made in the Implementation of the Program of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects, Ja’afari said that the illicit trade in small and light weapons represents the deteriorating ethical reality of the relations in the world nowadays.

He added that the world, today, is witnessing the most dangerous phenomenon which is the direct transport of small and light weapons and their ammunition by certain states to the groups which are on the list of the Security Council as terrorist groups.

Ja’afari stressed that this dangerous phenomenon is not only related to the illicit trading in the small and light weapons, but also, in the direct transport of the certain states’ stocks.

He pointed out that some Arab states, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are still spending billions of dollars to buy weapons and transport them to the terrorist groups and there are some regional states, such as Turkey, which are supplying militants with all types of care, training, protection and weapons.

Ja’afari added that there are some Western states, such as the US, France and Britain, which have spent billions of dollars to provide all types of weapons and to train and finance terrorists who exist on the Syrian lands including the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and Daesh (ISIS).

Every single word Jaafari says is true and they know it. And they laugh about it. Because they know nobody can do anything to them right now. They behave exactly like Romans during the Great Roman Empire. However, they obviously don’t read the history. Whatever they do this cannot continue forever. One day JUSA will collapse exactly like Roman Empire and they will be in the history forever and for good…

You’re right! We must cut UNRWA funding : it costs 4x more than UNHRC, and well, cut UNHCR funding too! Let refugees die since UN is useless. According to you, UNICEF is useless too as it’s a UN program, so cut humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. And well, as most of this is paid by EU, China and USA, you have great ideas : we’ll pay far less taxes letting all these people in dire-straits. Ooopppss… There are 5.45 millions Syrian refugees (on a 11M total) living on UNHCR relief alone while providing help… Read more »

Ja’afari is 100% right about Qatar, KSA and Turkey and it’s clear that the US/UK logistical support is really nefarious. Now, sorry, but as since DGSE and BND merged, still NO SIGN of Franco-Germania having either armed, trained or funded terrorists, unless you’re Erdogan accusing YPG of being terrorists which they aren’t. I defy anyone to find French/German weapons supplied by these states to Jabhat al-Nusra and Daesh. Daesh has been seen in very few occasions using Milan ATGMs, these were mostly seized from SAA arms depot (SAA uses many French gear : Milan, Gazelle gunship chopper…) or eventually captured… Read more »
