BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 P.M.) – CCTV footage showing the alleged timeline of events surrounding the disappearance of Saudi journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi was aired on Turkish media on Wednesday.
The footage shows a private plane, allegedly owned by Saudi Arabia, arriving in Istanbul, and the alleged suspects leaving the airport and checking in and out of hotels.
Khashoggi was also reportedly caught on camera entering the Saudi Arabian embassy, and with cars later leaving the building and arriving to the consular residence.
The last shots allegedly show the private Saudi jet on a runway at Istanbul airport, ready to take off.
Khashoggi was last seen entering his country’s consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to prepare documents for his forthcoming marriage. His fiancée claimed she waited outside for him for 11 hours, but he did not return.
Turkish officials suspect the journalist was murdered, while Saudi Arabia has firmly denied the allegations.
