BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:10 P.M.) – The special forces commander of the Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group was killed today by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northeastern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham announced the death of their special forces emir, Abu ‘Uthman Ashdaa, after intense clashes with the Syrian Arab Army near the town of Sarha Al-Shamiyah in northeast Hama.
A Syrian military source told Al-Masdar that Abu ‘Uthman Ashdaa was one of the most important commanders in Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, so his loss will be felt throughout the terrorist group’s high command.
The Syrian Army was able to advance their positions in this part of the Hama Governorate recently, forcing Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham to send a large number of reinforcements to this front in order to drive back the government units.
