The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have made significant gains in Aleppo city over the past weeks, thus securing the Ramouseh district, the embattled Handarat camp, parts of the Sheikh Sa’eed district along with the Al-Kindi hospital and its surrounding areas.

After suffering demoralizing territorial losses in the city, Aleppo’s besieged rebel forces have been given a last opportunity to give up their weapons in return for amnesty.

Al-Masdar News predicts the parties will likely reach a deal similar to the one in Homs, Syria’s third largest city, which was secured by the SAA after a series of military gains and ultimately through diplomatic negotiations in 2014.
