A titanic battle is currently underway for Aleppo city as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Islamist insurgents exchange blows over control of Syria’s largest city.
Currently, government troops seem to be carrying out a pincer manuever by attacking rebel positions south of the Al-Mallah farms and north at the Layramoun Industrial District.
If these SAA offensives go to plan, government soldiers will be able to meet each other at the Castello road, establishing full control over the final rebel supply line to Aleppo city, rather than mere fire control.
