In an effort to halt the Islamist momentum in Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has mobilized hundreds of armored vehicles to beef up the city’s defences.

However, Jaish al-Fateh and the Fatah Halab operations room still boast a highly effective fighting force, comprised of upwards of 10,000 rebel fighters.

Jaish al-Fatah has also developed its very own assault troops, comparable to the SAA’s Tiger Forces, although very few details are available about the unit.

These fighters all wear masks and are immediately withdrawn and replaced from the frontline once they capture a point, a military source tells Al-Masdar News.

Foreign special forces dont spend highly educated and expensive forces like that at all.

But they could be educated by them and helped by radio.

Agree Jens they’re not European special forces, nor American. The only SF who could conceivably fight alongside the jihadi scum are the Israelis. They have a national interest in Syrian chaos. With access to satellite and drone intel they identify a weak point in defensive lines and get the scum to attack it like crazy. After taking a point they withdraw and repeat! They wear masks to look dangerous but also so they cannot be identified in Go-Pro videos and photos. I bet they also have phoney jihadist names, lol!

Terrorist assault forces all wear masks? and immediately withdrawn after securing a site. May be, these are American, or NATO special forces, or Israeli, or hired mercenaries from private security contractors like “Blackwater” Russia should start dropping those thermo-Baric bombs to wipe out thousands of these terrorists and unmask these s.o.b.’s.

I don’t know how much those 100 tanks and 400 bmp’s are going to change situation.

I think general Patton once said something like “Wars are fought with weapons but they are won by men!”

SAA needs more manpower!

Thats right. When US in 1938 only had 125.000 troops and no gear for figting the Japanese and later on in Europe one of the first very big step was to make hobby-looking very good soldiers to men even having weapons in the beginning saying da.-da-da, boom for handgranates and so on. Israel couldnt defeat all the arabs, if they were like the arabs. If possible and arabs want to take Israel there must be changes in more then flags. Think its a very good example, where arabs has learned nothing too despite of loosing 1948, 1956, 1973. Nusra and… Read more »

Israel lost to a militia(Hezbollah) in 2000 and 2006, with a huge manpower and equipment advantage. The Arabs lost to Israel because Israel was heavily aided by the U.S., Britain and French. In the coming future, Israel will be no match for the Shia crescent even with their strong airforce and useless nukes. A conflict that will essentially remain conventional due to mutual assured destruction. If Israel decided to go nuclear, Iran’s ballistic arsenal would wipe Israel off the map. Israel’s days are indeed numbered. This coming from a Sunni Muslim, btw.

For years id been wandering why a part of those terrorists been wearing masks. Are they part of a big deception or do they need to hide their nationality?

Masked troops are NATO mercenaries?

Of course they are not. Nato will never send well educated soldiers to that kind of slaugterbench. Nato forces in the whole region help “the right ones” behind own lines. Small groups comming around very hidden and make big sabotage, captuiring highly rank enemy soldier or lazer pinpointing targets for smart bombs – Something for that. The only have a small amount of reel troops north of Bagdad – as I know it and Turks are protecting the building up in Insirlik. Well, thats what i know. Im sure Nusra & Co get some help from anyone they can but… Read more »

No, they are foreign special troops from Britain, France and the U.S, Turkey; you see, they are desperate to get their citizens trapped in the cauldron out. The said powers have hundereds of spooks, military advisors and such trapped. They are doing everything they can to get them out. This scandal will be exposed soon.

I don’t totally agree on the conclusion : it depends on if Putin agrees or not to use serious thermobarics or maybe if SyAAF got supplied in those : This is a 2000lbs thermobarics AKA fuel-air AKA vacuum bomb effects : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmRASCHJe2Q US built then the 6800kg “Daisy Cutter” then the 11 tons MOAB (massive ordnance air burst AKA mother of all bombs) but russians did much better : what westerners call FOAB (f*****g ordnance air burst AKA father of all bombs)… Daddy may seem lighter than mummy : only 7,1 tons… but it’s MOAB² (square if you prefer). You’ve… Read more »

What the SAA and allies have done is very smart, they feign a tactical withdraw, thus drawing the militants out then hammer away. Also, if the militants have armored vehicles, the Russians could use ‘sensor fused weapons’, google that.

Not b4 Sasha! This armour is useless in urban conflict and would have been easy prey to the jihadi ATGMs they seem to have an endless supply of. This amount of armour points to one thing – a rapid encirclement over open country! Now that the jihadi scum are on the move in and near Aleppo a lot of them can be trapped there! Without supplies it will become a death trap! If they want to avoid encirclement they have to leave now!
