Five days ago, ISIS seized six villages in northern Aleppo in a surprise offensive to reclaim much of the valuable Turkish-Syrian border region.
Despite some rebel counter advances, the Islamic State is now just one kilometer from Azaz. If ISIS should seize this border city, rebels will be fully expelled from northern Aleppo, a region controlled by the Syrian Opposition since the summer of 2012.
