Following joint military drills between the Egyptian Army and Russian Armed Forces last week, Moscow has invited a group of Egyptian officers to inspect Russian military facilities in the Syrian city of Tartous.

Syria and Egypt have been on good political terms since July 2013 when the Egyptian Army toppled former President Mohammed Morsi. Cairo and Damascus share common foes, specifically the Muslim Brotherhood and ISIS, two organizations outlawed in both countries.

It’d be great if EAF was just sending their Tucanos, Karakorum-8, Alpha Jets and L-59 Super Albatros : they could easily align 150-200 aircrafts by just picking them from their trainers who also have a light strike aircraft capability without even touching their main jet fighters (Rafale, Mirage-2000, F-16). Sending the EC-130H Compass-Call would be of great use too : these C-130s were “heavily modified to disrupt enemy command and control communications, perform offensive counterinformation operations, and do other kinds of electronic attack.”.
