BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) – The Free Syrian Army’s “Southern Front” started a new offensive in the southwestern countryside of Dara’a on Tuesday, targeting the last pocket of territory under the control of the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist organization.

Southern Front forces announced this offensive this morning, calling this latest assault against the Khaled bin Walid Brigade (ISIL affiliate) “Operation Taking Off the Daggers.”

The Khaled bin Walid Brigade has sent many of their fighters north to the Al-Raqqa fron in order to help their allies in the Islamic State against the swarming Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Southern Front forces are expected to capture the Yarmouk area of southwest Dara’a in the coming days, as they look to expel the terrorists from the Dara’a Governorate.

The Daraa Daesh (Jaysh Khalid Ibn Al Walid) is a force to be reckoned with, although they are small they managed to smash the Daraa jihadis of HTS and the “Southern Front” and more than double… Read more »
