BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:59 P.M.) – A commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has claimed that the US-led air force will used Tabqa airbase in Raqqa province in Syria’s north.
“Coalition planes will use Tabqa instead of Incirlik,” SDF commander Nasser Haj Mansour said according to Sputnik Turkey.
Incirlik airbase in Turkey has become synonymous with NATO as it was a key base for the military alliance to use and potentially use, particularly during the Cold War.
Any use of a military instalment by the US would be against international law as it is without the permission of Damascus.
Meanwhile, the SDF have released drone footage on Monday that shows Tabqa Airport fully under its control.
