BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:25 P.M.) – Earlier today, rumors surfaced via Twitter and Facebook that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had reached an agreement with the Islamic State (ISIL) in Tabaqa to surrender the city and Euphrates for passage to Raqqa City.

However, the official media wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces denied any such agreement with the Islamic State.

In a statement released via their official Arabic language channel, the High Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces stated all claims of an agreement being reached with ISIL in Tabaqa City are false.

While it’s very likely the Syrian Democratic Forces did leave a corridor open in Tabaqa to allow the Islamic State terrorists to leave; it would not be announced by the former.
