BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – A scuffle broke out at the Atme border crossing in the Idlib Governorate on Friday after protesters accused Turkey of not doing enough to stop the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) advance

According to local reports, the protesters were demanding protection from the Turkish Armed Forces when a fight broke out.

There were no casualties reported as a result of this scuffle.

The Syrian Arab Army has been steadily advancing inside the Idlib Governorate since the start of their offensive in May; this has prompted outrage from the Syrian opposition, as they have lost several areas, including the strategic city of Khan Sheikhoun.

@Nestor Arapa, that is the reason behind it. IHMO. But Turkey ran foul and is about to run foul with several ethno-religious sponsor groups that control a large portion of English Western MSMedia and Arabic MSMedia. So I wonder whether the fallout will be so large this time.

p.s. The Sultan ran foul with them ideologically and crossed their economical interests.

The protesters are Sunni civilians from Hama, KH, Idlib who now realized that SAA & Russians will ultimately decimate the HTS Jihadis too similar to Jaish Al Izza & NLF and just realized that all these days they used to be under the illusion that SAA & Russians will never come into Idlib when HTS is present. Their dreams have just vanished & they are getting nightmares now. After seeing the fall of Hama, KH these Anti Syria Anti Assad civilians now want Turki Army to get involved to take on SAA. Turki will drop them like hot potato which… Read more »

@LLS, vain hopes. Contrary. HTS and other hardliners are excluded from truce and peace.

As long as they exist – Russia will aid SAA.

@ Marg Bar joumhuri Eslami, Russians will stay in Syria for years. They have invested a lot and Syrians too know the sacrifice, in-spite of Russian economy under a lot of issues Russians did not flinch in supporting President Assad nor Syrians. Russians will conclude this war after the defeat of HTS and remaining Daesh inside Syria. They will support Syrian Army to consolidate and bring in the stability and also assist Syria in the reconstruction phase.

@LLS, true the Russians will have their harbor and airport. Even after the war is over.

The Russians prevented a Libyan style failed state near the bear’s backyard – they had to act. I expected this and the outcome since 2012 when the Jihadi made their Ramasan offensive in Damascus and Russia kept sending arms.

C’mon you know perfectly why they acted! #1 to avoid North-Dome/South-Pars to reach the EU through pipeline! This would be a true disaster for Russian economy! Libya and Iraq, even Iran with reduced gas+oil exports make Russia’s day and you know it too! If Hormuz was to be blockaded, they’d sabre the Champagne both at the Kremlin and at Exxon, Conoco and Chevron HQs. It wouldn’t reach $150/barrel ‘coz fracking, but a good $100 would be great for Russia. The jihadis are useful idiots for some with geopolitical views : These are the gas pipelines : Look at where you… Read more »

@Marg bar Āmrikā, the US Empire, their Gulf and MB Turkey allies waged war against the EU. We were not interested in the pipeline nor in receiving millions of refugees to destabilizing our social systems.

It was a war to weaken EU as a political entity that could compete with the Empires hegemony if we opted to do so.

They also waged war against Russia that had similar interests and was closer – so the Russian went to war for the common interest. While our politicians dosed by ethno-philantropic motivated Main Stream Media slept.

LLS : You misinterpreted what I wrote : I know that Russia will stay, I pointed just that once the hardliners crushed, SAA will be able to do most of the job alone.
Russia didn’t invested so much. At the height of operations, it never went over $3M/day. I can guarantee you it’s really on the cheap : we fast tracked the cleansing of Mali, the bill was €800M for about 1 month operations.

@LLS : You misred me : Once the serious looneys finished, the Russian direct military help will be much less necessary, SAA will have much less workload and be able to deal with most of cases without them.
I’ve never said they would leave : I’m lucid, I perfectly know what Erdogollum would do at the minute Russia is gone : same thing if US pull out from Rojava now, and… Syria has a frenemy as voracious as Erdogollum…
Moreover, Hmeimim and Tartous are Russian bases for at least 50 years

@Nestor Arapa, true, that is what the remaining Jihadi sponsors and their clients bank on.

But will there be a big outcry really?

p.s. The spiritual homeland of the B’nai B’rith has other economical interests in the oil and gas sector in the East Aegean Sea and vicinity. So has the EU in her acquis. And some anti Muslim Brotherhood Arab countries share these interests.

IMHO the Sultan will find all these allied sooner or later (if not already) and they own and influence many media.

=> They’re already so…

You surely know that the minimum yield of a B61 is 0.3 kilotons…
If the Sultan and the Emir go on at pi$$ing off everybody while they obviously refuse to see they’ve already been given warnings, some B61 dialed at minimum yield may find their way into the re-entry cone of some improved Scud-copies, then, well, it’d be blamed on the 3rd dog

I knew. On several occasions the common D’accord about the unity against the Padishah in Ankara were leaked on The Middle East Eye / chief editor David Hirst formerly Guardian.

Interesting.
At the same time, MEE = Qatar and hiring Hearst = white-washing, I prefer not be too trustful on what comes from ’em, many articles I red were serious phantasms.
In fact, I think I trust no source, only recouping from multiple ones, preferably contradicting ones. 😉
I think they helped al-Bashir out, which is definitively not a loss for Sudan.

The only connection between Qatar and MEE is Jamal Bessasso, a former director of planning and human resources at Al Jazeera. Only the governments of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain accuse MEE of pro-Muslim Brotherhood bias and receiving Qatari funding. MEE has responded that it is independent of any government or movement and is not funded by Qatar.

According to Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon official, the website was registered by a former employee of Interpal, which is a United Kingdom-based charity designated by the US Treasury Department working for the American Enterprise Institute.
