BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) launched a powerful offensive in Dara’a City, Saturday, striking the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions inside the Al-Manishiyah District.
Initially, the jihadist rebels were successful during the first hours of the offensive, capturing a large building from the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division.
However, by the afternoon hours on Saturday, the jihadist rebels found themselves encircled by the Syrian Arab Army and unwilling to surrender their newly gained ground in Al-Manishiyah.
According to a Syrian officer from the 5th Division, the Syrian Arab Army meticulously carried out a counter-attack on the captured building, killing and wounding many of the jihadist rebels in the process.
Gruesome pictures were released by the Syrian Arab Army following the attack, showing several jihadist corpses littered across the battlefield.
Please note: Due to the gruesome nature of the photos, Al-Masdar has made the decision to refrain from posting the images.
