DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5: 20 P.M.) – At least 11 Islamic State militants have been killed when the Syrian troops foiled their attempt to infiltrate Army positions in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor.
Fierce clashes erupted near Jabiliyah district , Al-Tanmiyah sector and the proximity of cemetery area as ISIS jihadists attacked the government troops.
Meanwhile, the Syrian and Russian warplanes conducted more than 30 airstrikes, targeting ISIS positions and gatherings in Ayash , Al-Janenah towns , around Silos area on Deir Ez-Zor highway and Al-Hossan town. Up to 20 jihadists were killed and wounded in the airstrikes.
Elsewhere in the embattled city, the Army’s artillery units stationed inside the 137 Regiment base hit jihadists’ trenches in Al-Huwyqah and Ummal districts, the proximity of Taim Oil Fields and Al-Sannouf hilltop.
In response, the terror group retaliated with indiscriminately shelling the government-controlled parts of the city with mortars, killing 2 civilians and injuring 8 others.
