BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) – On Friday, a military commander in the Iranian Navy said that the Saudi Coast Guard fired at Iranian fishermen who crossed the maritime boundary.
The military commander added that the initial reports do not indicate any injuries.
Saudi Arabia has always been accusing the Iranian authorities of posing a threat to international peace and security, stressing the “need to tackle the danger” resulting from Tehran’s policies.
In the latest escalation between the two parties, the Saudi ambassador to Austria and the governor of the Kingdom to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Prince Abdullah bin Khalid, said at a meeting of the organization on Tuesday:
“It is necessary to address the threat that Iranian policies pose to international peace and security with a comprehensive perspective that is not limited to its nuclear program, but rather includes all hostile activities, including its interference in the affairs of the countries of the region and its support for terrorism, and cuts all avenues for Iran to acquire weapons of mass destruction.”
