BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 A.M.) – The Saudi Coalition scored a big advance this past weekend in the Yemeni province of Marib after launching a powerful offensive against the Houthi forces.
Backed by heavy airstrikes from their air force, the Saudi Coalition managed to capture the strategic Dahwan and Athaf mountains, forcing the Houthi troops to fall back towards the western part of the province.
Following the capture of these areas in the Marib Governorate, the Saudi Coalition pushed their way into the Al-Asqari Mountain region, where they were confronted by a large group of Houthi forces.
The Houthi forces reported that they forestalled the Saudi Coalition’s advance last night; however, they are still under a heavy attack from the latter at the Al-Asqari front.
With the battle for the Hodeidah Governorate at a standstill, the Saudi Coalition has shifted their attention to the Sanaa and Marib provinces, where the Houthi forces still posses a large presence in the region.
