BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – A large number of Houthi fighters were killed on Wednesday when a Saudi Coalition warplane bombed their positions inside the Ta’iz Governorate of west Yemen.
According to local reports, approximately 23 Houthi fighters were killed this morning after the Saudi Coalition bombed their positions inside the Maqbanah District of western Ta’iz.
The attack reportedly caught the Houthi forces off guard in the Ta’iz Governorate because the hostilities in this area have mostly dissipated since the U.N.-sponsored peace talks in Sweden.
In response to this attack, the Houthi forces unleashed a barrage of artillery shells and rockets towards the Saudi Coalition and pro-government troops that inside the Ta’iz Governorate.
With hostilities flaring up once again in western Yemen, the locals fear the fighting could spread to the Hodeidah Governorate, where the U.N. is currently monitoring the port.
