The Saudi-led Coalition Forces were in for a surprise on Wednesday afternoon when they launched a massive-assault on the Tawwal border-crossing that is controlled by the Houthis and the Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard.

The objective of the attack was to surprise and overwhelm the enemy combatants; however, when they approached the border-crossing, they were ambushed by a Houthis battalion that killed an estimated 40-60 Saudi soldiers in what is being regarded as a disastrous military operation.

Journalists entrenched with the Houthis in northern Yemen have alleged that the total number of Coalition Forces killed exceeds 80; unfortunately, there is no way to verify this, given the fact that Saudi Arabia rarely reports their own casualties.

Regardless of the casualty count, the Houthis successfully repelled the massive assault by the Coalition Forces, dealing another blow to this Saudi-led group that has done very little to stabilize the country.
