The Saudi-backed Yemeni National Army – alongside private security forces – imposed full control over the strategic city of Al-Mukalla in southern Yemen after a day long battle with Al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

According to earlier reports, the Yemeni National Army and their allies were able to seize the eastern district of Al-Mukalla and the Al-Rayyan Military Airport before they declared the entire city under their complete control.

Al-Mukalla is situated in the Abyan Governorate of southern Yemen; its coastal access makes this an imperative victory for the Saudi-backed forces.

The Yemeni National Army still has some territory to go before they can declare the entire Abyan Governorate clear of AQAP; however, the capture of Al-Mukalla on Sunday night was a good start to the offensive.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

So AQ just swapped their black clothes for white until further change? This is so funny, like a Hollywood thriller, no brain needed
