The chief negotiator for the Syrian opposition delegation in Geneva, Mohammad ‘Alloush, reportedly stepped down from his role on Sunday after describing the entire peace process as a failure.
‘Alloush alleged that no progress was made during these peace talks, despite the fact he spent several months in a luxurious hotel in Geneva while telling the international media that he was committed to bringing peace to Syria.
The Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) leader also complained that many prisoners have not been released by the Syrian government; however, ‘Alloush’s organization has also imprisoned thousands of Syrians in the East Ghouta region for not complying with his laws.
Furthermore, Mohammad ‘Alloush attacked his host hotel in Geneva for serving pork to its patrons.
The Syrian opposition has not named a replacement for ‘Alloush.
