The Saudi-backed “Future Movement Party” accused Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) on Sunday of blocking the Lebanese presidential elections.
Minister of Parliament, Mohammad Hajjar (Future Movement delegate), said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station that his political party wants to elect a president; however, they are being prohibited by Hezbollah and the FPM.
“The Lebanese Forces and the Progressive Socialist bloc are in favor of a mixed electoral law, which has not yet been given the vote required for approval.”
The Future Movement believes that Lebanon’s issues are due to the absence of a head of state.
Hezbollah has not responded to these accusations.
