The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that it will deploy ground troops to Syria in order to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to the Saudi owned news service “Al-Arabiya”, the Al-Saud regime’s decision to deploy troops is final and will be part of a much larger coalition to combat ISIS.

The news agency quoted the Saudi Army’s spokesman Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Assiri as stating that the regime’s decision is “final” and “irreversible.”

Not surprising, the Saudi Army spokesman also issued a message to Iran, where he attempted to call-out them out for supporting “terrorists” in Syria and Yemen.

Saudi Arabia’s decision to send ground troops to Syria is somewhat shocking, given the fact that they are losing ground inside their own country to the Yemeni Army and the Houthis.

The Saudi regime has struggled immensely in their proxy wars against Iran; this frustration has become evident in their constant military intervention.

When the deposed president of Yemen ‘Abd Rubbah Mansour Hadi and his loyalists began to lose large cities to the Houthis and Yemeni Army, Saudi troops were deployed to Yemen in order to halt the anti-government advance.

Saudi Arabia has kept their intentions relatively quiet for now; however, their presence in Syria is likely to agitate the Syrian Government, who has made it clear that they do not welcome any Saudi interference.

Iranian officials and commanders surprisingly dismissed Saudi planned invasion of Syria, Well, dimissing Saudi actions or dowplaying their military capbaility is not a strategy, the Saudis proved to be crazy in Yemen and they can take foolish decisions, Iran needs to develop military strategy with Russia and Syria to counter Saudi Turkish potential invasion of Syria, this pivotal time in Syria we need more action not more talk.

Let it be clear, they won’t go in. But mercenaries from Pakistan all the way to Colombia might do it for the Saudis. Just like the case in Yemen

Impressed with the timing of this announcement, which coincides with the Syria-less, ISSG announcement from Berlin, of cessation of military actions, in Syria, excluding only two of the takfiri savages gangs.
