SANA’A, YEMEN (8:00 P.M.) – Today military sources in Sana’a reported on the continuation of military operations targeting the Saudi army in Najran, Asir and Jizan provinces of the Kingdom.

According to the sources, Yemeni snipers neutralized three Saudi soldiers at Al Farydhah site in Jizan region. This comes in conjunction with artillery and missile bombardment of a string of sites belonging to the Saudi army and allied pro-Saudi militias.

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, several funerals were held to inter six bodies out of twelve officers killed in the helicopter crash in Marib city, northern Yemen, two weeks ago. Back then, a “Black Hawk” belonged to Saudi Royal Air Force was mistakenly shot down by allied UAE air defenses.

According to Anadolu agency, the funeral ceremonies were attended by large crowds of citizens accompanied by princes of several provinces.

Anadolu did not specify, however, why the bodies of other victims of the helicopter crash had not been recovered.

A “Black Hawk” helicopter belonging to the Saudi armed forces was shot down on April 18 while carrying out a mission in Marib province. As a result, twelve servicemen were killed including four officers.

This casualty rate among Saudi military personnel became one of the highest for a single incident, since Saudi-led coalition started its military campaign in Yemen in March 2015.
